4th of July Parade, Aviation Museum, Audrey's 1st Haircut ~ July 1st - 24th 2013
Our neighborhood had a 4th of July bike parade. All the kids decorated their bikes and rode through the neighborhood to the pool for a party. We swam and played water games, ate BBQ and had a great time. Audrey jumped off the diving board for the first time and loved it. I was excited to meet some people in the neighborhood.
The house is finally painted, the entertainment system put in and the furniture we've found and ordered is finally starting to come in. Some we haven't liked and are returning but we are excited to have the room coming together. Its starting to feel like our home.
I love this little game area between the great room and the kitchen. I like to play board games and cards with the kids here. Next we will work on getting pictures to hang up and some decorations around the fireplace mantle and tables once they come.
AJ has wanted to visit the Aviation Museum since we moved to Charlotte and we finally made it on a rainy Saturday perfect to be inside for hours. We had a great time and the kids loved getting inside and exploring all the planes.
Aaron, AJ and Audrey sat in the emergency inflatable boat that came out of the US Airway plane from the Miracle on the Hudson exhibit. AJ was interested to know all about what happened that day. He loves planes and enjoys learning anything he can about them.
I took some pictures of Audrey and her dear friend Kayla. They had a great time riding together!
AJ is finally tall enough to ride the Afterburn at Carowinds! He closed his eyes the whole time. He loves roller coasters, but there are 6 that you have to be over 54 inches to ride and this was his first!
I finally took Audrey to get her first hair cut. Aaron and AJ wanted to be there so we picked a Saturday and went as a family. She did such a great job and was so excited after seeing AJ get many haircuts himself.
Audrey and Aaron playing her favorite game of Princess Cupcakes at the game table.
Audrey got a box from Grammy Roome. She was so excited to open it and find a quilt just for her. It will be the quilt that will go on her big girl bed when I'm ready to transition her from the crib. Right now I'm not ready to give up the one place that still holds her for a time out when necessary.
Since the quilt is too big for her crib, we use it as a "tent" and Audrey loves it!!
We visited Shirley in the picture above. She is our adopted grandma. We miss living next to her but visit her often!
Once a year Chic-Fil-A has a costumer appreciation day. If you dress up like a cow you get a free meal. We had our free lunch with the Blauers and then dinner later that night!
At the Discovery Place I made a black and white purse out of tape for Audrey. She is a pretty good model here I think!
We love to build these towers out of the wooden sticks. But destroying them is just as fun!
Above Daddy is teaching AJ how to use his new pool stick. It is his size so hopefully it will be easier for him to learn. Below AJ is eating a Twinkie and he is very happy that they are being made again. Its a fun treat every once in awhile.
AJ love the ropes course at the Columbia zoo. He is braver than he was last year when he tried it. I like seeing him challenge himself and face some fears.
