Baseball, Soccer, Botanical Gardens~ May 18th - 24th

Audrey loves the sand box.  She has no problem getting or being dirty.  The heat also does not deter her from playing in the sand.  I stand in the shade most of the time unless she wants me to build her castles that she can knock down or step on.

AJ's soccer season is over and he had a great time.  Above is a picture of the parents vs kids game we played at the soccer party.  Thankfully this year no parent or kid got hurt.  After the game we had a picnic and the players got their medals.  Audrey ran circles around the field and kicked loose soccer balls around. We had these 2 coaches for 2 seasons and they were awesome with the kids.  AJ definitely improved because of their abilities.  We will miss them as they move on to college in the fall.

AJ is still enjoying his baseball season.  In the pictures above he got a single, but eventually made it all the way home.  Daddy was there to see it since it was on a Saturday, and Audrey enjoyed watching Little Einsteins during the game as usual.  It is the only way I get to watch the game too since she only sits down when she is watching a show.

One night we went to "Music in the Park" with the Blauers.  A band played music from the Eagles while the kids played on the playground, jumped in a few bounces, ate pizza and ice cream and wrote on the sidewalk with chalk. The park has a beautiful pond with turtles in it and fountains.  We like to walk all the way around it and count all the turtles we see.

More baseball! AJ usually plays catcher or left field.  Audrey plays in the dirt when she is not watching a movie or eating popcorn and a hot dog.

I joined AJ and his 1st grade class on their end of the year field trip to the botanical gardens about 30 minutes away.  AJ loves nature and constantly asks me to plant different flowers and plants.  He had me take several pictures of some neat plants that are shown below.  We had a great time visiting the gardens!

Many of the students were soaking wet after walking through and in these fountains. AJ was a little wet, but only because I was there to intercede.

The class learned about transplanting plants and each took home a sample to watch the roots grow.
