Happy 2nd Birthday Audrey ~ January 1st - 8th 2012

This picture above of Audrey just makes me laugh. She is almost 2 here and I want to document her life at this age. Audrey loves to laugh and sing.  Some of her favorite songs are Veggie Tales Theme Song ("Broccoli" she calls it), I Love to See the Temple, Rock-a-by, If You're Happy and You Know It, Walking in a Winter Wonderland, I Know He Lives, The Wise and Foolish Man, Twinkle Twinkle and many more.  These are the ones she sings the most and she also likes to insert her favorite peoples' names into the songs.
During the day Audrey loves to play with her babies and their strollers, build a building with her big Legos, read books, go to the park or Discovery center, play in the yard or ride her tricycle, rock on her rocking bear, vacuum and sweep with me, color or draw with her markers, make a mess with play dough, visit her friends at the YMCA while I work out, visit our favorite friends Kristen and daughter Riley, Karen and daughter Kayla.  Throughout the day she talks about these friends and at church she yells out their names when she sees them in the congregation.
Audrey loves to eat! She truly gets happy whenever she is eating. She eats as often as possible, but that's OK because whenever she isn't playing she is running! Well it is more like bouncing on her feet. Totally cute.  I call her twinkle toes.  She talks all the time and speaks really well for an almost 2 year old.  She is high spirited and very stubborn.  She wants to do everything herself, her way, in her time frame.  I'm trying to embrace that as much as possible...
She blows kisses and gives real kisses if you're lucky, but always a good night kiss. She folds her arms to pray and will pray herself when she chooses. She says, "Daddy work at tall building?" when Aaron leaves for work each morning.  We have dinner with him near his work in the middle of the week.  She recognizes his building in uptown. She always asks to ride in daddy's car. She loves to play with AJ and they are very silly together.  She always tries to sneak into his room that is off limits to her.  He has lots of Legos and toys that he doesn't want his sister breaking.
Audrey loves to clean.  She gets towels out of the kitchen drawer and steals wet wipes to clean the floor, tables, toys and walls. She loves to sweep and vacuum with me or tries to do it herself. My shoes in the closet are always a mess because she loves to wear my shoes. She also loves to take baths especially when there are bubbles. I love to do cute things with her hair, but she almost always pulls it out, especially after she gets mad for getting into trouble.  She is super ticklish and fun to play with. She can be so sweet it melts my heart.  She also tests my patience in every way. I can't imagine life without her!

We love Chick-fil-A!  Aaron and some friends from school took a tour of the food prep area and had a great time.

Audrey is wearing a backpack because she sees AJ wearing a backpack. She copies everything we do and say! She doesn't miss a thing. Too smart for this mama!

Audrey and I like to visit our friends Karin and Kayla once a week or more.  Here we are attempting our first pedicure with the girls.  Audrey did really well with Karin and she even managed to get a little heart sticker on her toe.  So fun and cute!!

AJ and Audrey love stickers.  Here they thought it would be fun to sticker each other and me with smiley faces.  I love it when they play together without destroying anything or each other.

My little girl is 2.  Audrey loves hearts, so of course I made her a heart cake! We met over at Karin's house because we love them and the kids enjoy being together most of the time. Karin's girls decorated the windows with window markers.  I hung some hearts and tissue balls around for fun.  The kids got to make a heart mobile and decorate it with heart themed stickers. AJ wanted to get a car toy with candy in it as a party gift for himself and Jackson, Karin's only son.  The girls all got pink wands to wave around. We ate the cake and ice cream and had a good little party for Audrey. When we got home we had Audrey open her presents.  My favorite gifts of hers were the toy vacuum that turned on to make vacuum noise and her own broom and dustpan.  It takes a lot of time to vacuum and sweep with a two year old holding on with you while you try to use them.  Now we work side by side! Kinda?? She actually likes to play "bumper vacuums".  But it is still easier, quicker, and more fun then before.
