Fathers Day, Casper and Lovell ~ June 20th- June 30th
I love to watch these two play around. AJ loves his sister a little too much sometimes (in her face with kisses, lots of hugs) and she needs her space. But she will often play with him on her terms.
We have the best daddy in the world. AJ and I printed out some ties and made some fun posters and decorations for Father's Day. AJ also went shopping and bought some great gifts that he could enjoy with his dad. I made a card that looks like one if his dress shirts and tie. The pocket square is a special note just for him.
AJ played a season of coach pitch baseball. He really enjoyed it and got better with every game. The practices were in the late summer afternoons and were really hot, but he still had fun. He was most entertaining to watch when he was in the outfield- not engaged in the game. He'd kick dirt, throw his hat in the air, look at planes in the sky and make funny noises. He did get some good hits and enjoyed his coach.
We love spending part of our summer in Wyoming. Flying to Casper was not especially fun with little Audrey. She can't sit still for 2 minutes unless she is eating or sick. Sooo I fed her a lot of treats and walked the aisles of the plane and wrestled with her until we landed in Casper. AJ was a champ and read books or watched movies the whole time. While in Casper we stayed with Grandma and Grandpa and visited all 4 of my siblings that live there and their kids. AJ loves his aunts, uncles and cousins. At Grandmas playing in the hose and backyard is one of our favorite activities. Since we have always lived in an apartment or townhouse we have never had our own yard or hose.
We took a 4 hour trip to Lovell to visit Great Grandpa Brown, Aunt Karen and cousins. Grandma and Grandpa grew up there and return every year for Lovell Days. We saw lots of family, went to a parade and caught enough candy to fill a gallon bag, went to a carnival in a park, went into the mountains nearby and saw snow, and just enjoyed family.
On our way home from Lovell, we stopped at Thermopolis "Home of the World's Largest Hot Springs". We walked around the hot spring, crossed a swinging bridge, climbed a rock bison, and saw 9 real bison.
Back in Casper we always manage to have lots of ice cream and Popsicles. We also visited with my best friend Cheryl at her mother's home. She has a pool and we were there when they started to fill it. The water was freezing cold, but AJ and Riley had a blast playing in it.
