Hornets Game and the Roome Reunion ~ March 2016

We love to visit Daddy at work.  While there we often go up to the 10th floor observatory and see the city lights.

Our stake had a Luau and President Hall roasted a huge pig for us.  The kids love to dress up for any occasion and are pretty experienced in posing for pictures...

Our martial arts studio had their annual Easter Egg hunt.  We have fun at all their holiday parties.

The kids and I enjoyed watching the St. Patrick's Day parade. We kept thinking about Grandma and Grandpa Sorensen and how much they'd love to be at this parade too since they served a mission in Ireland.

Little Miss Audrey and I loved watching the Little Mermaid ballet.  She is getting old enough to appreciate these activities and I'm so happy since I've been looking  forward to taking her for a long time.

We happened to be visiting Fire Station 1 when they were washing the truck and the kids were excited to help! The fire fighters said to come by and wash the truck anytime.
Aaron was very exited when they got a call.

Daddy and Aaron went to a Hornets game. Aaron was able to stand on the court while they were singing the National Anthem.  Daddy chose to go to the game to support a player from Wake Forest on the other team.  Aaron kept mentioning how it was a coincidence that they went to the Hornets game the same week as one of his best weeks at school. It seemed like a great reward to him. Aaron was amazed to be in front of so many people.

We are in California for the Roome family reunion/Spring Break.  We are staying at Alicia's until we all head to a resort in Palm Springs! We love playing games with our cousins.

We love visiting Grandpa Robby and Carol in Poway.  We drove down for the day and enjoyed lunch and hanging out at their home.  Aaron loved playing with Cody, their dog.  We had a great time just being together and catching up.

We love dyeing eggs, egg hunts, watching the kids search for their baskets and Easter dinner.

One of the first things we did in Palm Springs was to go on a hike to see some waterfalls nearby. We had fun seeing all the desert scenery and avoiding snakes and cactus! It was really beautiful and we liked climbing all over the big rocks and throwing the small ones.

After everyone arrived on the first official day of the reunion we went swimming. It was unusually cool and a bit breezy, but we had a blast anyway. It was so wonderful to have everyone together.

I love these 3 guys with all my heart!  We love the time we get to spend with Papa!

Grammy brought some pictures to share and give to the siblings.  It was fun to hear them reminisce, laugh and visit. We also loved playing games when we weren't outdoors.

The whole family had a wonderful adventure on the Arial Tram. Before we boarded we hiked around and played a little catch for with the football. Once it was our time to board we discovered it slowly rotated 360 degrees and everyone was thrilled at the view and the ride in general.  What we didn't expect and could never have anticipated was for it to start snowing as we came closer to the top of the mountain.  Our Inskeep cousins had never played in the snow and were thrilled to see it falling!

Once we got to the top everyone started to throw snowballs. It was so fun to watch our cousins play in the snow and get cold hands from the snowballs.

This was definitely a wonderful unexpected surprise and delight to enjoy some snow with our family!

After the tram ride we took Grammy, Papa and Kathy with us to Los Casuelas. It was delicious Mexican food and beautiful  atmosphere.

We headed back to Los Angels and toured a part of LA we had never visited before.  We toured the Union Station and loved it.

There were beautiful palm trees, Bird of Paradise and other plants.

The inside was so gorgeous. There was a lot of wood, amazing windows and floors. The old style decorations were stunning! We loved walking around and enjoyed being together.

There were also fountains and an inner court with pretty roses.

We then walked to Olvera Street, Old Town Los Angeles. It was such a fun atmosphere and truly felt like we stepped back in history for a few blocks.

Next we went to one of our favorite restaurants in LA, Philippe! They have the best french dipped sandwiches.  The lamb is especially yummy.  We like watching them cut the meat and make the sandwiches in front of us. The coleslaw, chili, tapioca pudding and apple pie were all delicious.

After our delicious meal we drove by this memorial built in remembrance of the Mormon Battalion.

We love playing Canasta with Grammy and Papa! The kids always look forward to games with them.
