Swim Team, School Party, Ballet, ImagineOn, Summer Fun ~ June 2014
Aaron made a runway out of Play-Doh. Princess Audrey observed, distracted and bothered Aaron while he made the runway. Actually, she plays with the Play-Doh more often then Aaron.
Aaron joined the Hembstead Swim Team (neighborhood team) this summer. Practice was daily until the swim meets started and then practice was three times a week and meets were twice a week. AJ had fun but got cold easily at the beginning of the summer so it was a little more difficult getting him to practice. By the end of the season he was the most improved swimmer and made lots of friends in the neighborhood, which was why I wanted him to swim on the team.
One of Audrey's Play-Doh creations. She usually makes ice cream, pizza, cupcakes or pancakes for me.
Aaron's end of the school year party was pretty crazy. Fun games, ice cream, and shirt signing. I'm so glad his first year at ELE has been such a good experience.
Audrey's big performance day was a hit. She was so excited and I wish my camera had better zoom ability. She did 2 dances and had a great experience.
Had a fun baby shower for my friend Maria. Kristen Anderson let me borrow her choc fountain and it was a hit, especially for a little girl who loves chocolate!
Aaron asked his teacher for months to bring in his Lego airplane to show his classmates. On the last day of school I took it to school for him. His face pretty much says how happy it made him! He also got a present from his daddy for having a good year at school.
Dad sure knows how to pick a present!
Audrey took swim lessons at our neighborhood pool. She was a bossy student and was a bit of a challenge to her instructor, but she did learn how to swim eventually. After her lessons were over she really improved when she was left to practice on her own and in her own way. O'well...
The ImagineOn library had a special display of fairy tale stories and interactive activities. The kids had a great time pretending, dressing up and running around.
We love going to the Discovery Place. Today I made Audrey a skirt our of recycled programs and tape. We've also made purses, belts and necklaces.
Thanks for sending some fun stickers Grandma and Grandpa Sorensen. The kids are always excited to get something in the mail from the grandparents!
Aaron won his heat at a swim meet and got a ribbon. It didn't happen often but man were we excited when it did!
Father and Sons outing with the Stake was very adventurous this year. They found cool spiders on their tent, shot bb guns, used an ax to chop wood and practiced throwing them, played horse shoes and used a bow and arrow
I made a yummy breakfast for Father's Day. Aaron is such a loving father who is a great example for the kids in more ways than I can count. We love him so much and are also grateful for his patience with all of us!
Aaron go the distinguished award of being able to put this sign in our yard for the week. It is given to 4 swimmer each week for being outstanding in some way. Aaron is doing his best to improve and it shows! Great job son!
To say Aaron loves firetrucks would be a great understatement! We visit different stations around Charlotte so he can learn new things about them and visit the fireman.
Daddy serves at the temple every 3rd Saturday. Today we drove to Columbia, SC with him. We dropped him off and then headed to the zoo. It was hot, but we brought spray bottles to help cool us off. Plus many of the animals are indoors so we can cool off between animals.
I love these pictures of them full on laughing!! Priceless!!
Cloward cousins came over to run in the sprinklers and eat snow cones! We sure love having them over. Especially when Trudy and Dennis are in town. I always love catching up with them.
Audrey and I went to Cub Scout camp for a few days with Aaron. It was really hot but fun! He loved all the different activities offered and got to know his fellow scouts even better!
We graduated from yellow belts to camouflage belts! So proud of my kidos and myself for all the work we have done!
Happy faces, happy mom and dad!
