Strawberry Festival, Birthday Brunch, Pinewood Derby, Field Day ~ May 2014
These beautiful iris are growing in my yard and they remind me of the many times I spent weeding with my Grandma Sorensen. She had rows and rows of iris. Gardening was her passion and I will always remember her in her garden with dirt under her long nails.
My girl is ready for spring!
I couldn't pass up an opportunity to take a picture of the kids with these beautiful flowers in out backyard. I love spring!
Audrey had pictures today at ballet and I took one of her outside of the studio. I couldn't have turned out any better!
Audrey's pre-school had Muffins for Mom in celebration of Mother's day. She made me a beautiful butterfly, flower and card. She was so excited to give them to me and to have me stay at her school with her for the morning.
I'm excited to finally have my table ready for guests. I've never bought place mats or cloth napkins or table decorations. It was harder to find them then I thought, but its done now.
Audrey wanted me to take a picture of her new princess piggy bank. I hope I get pictures of all the things, events and places we visit so that all out memories are recorded on this blog that I print out every 6 months as our families history.
AJ still loves soccer and has a great coach. Audrey loves to run as fast as she can during AJ's games.
Our neighborhood had a Hawaiian party for couples. We saw some great dancers, had delicious food and enjoyed a lava cake. We are still trying to get to know our many neighbors and nights like this are a fun way to do it.
Aaron made me a delicious breakfast for Mother's Day. He is the best!
For my birthday I wanted to spend time with as many friends as possible so I had a birthday brunch. Each friend brought something to share and everyone had a great time. Many friends hadn't seen each other in a while since they were from different wards and they all actually thanked me for giving them an opportunity to see each other. I will definitely do it again next year.
My kids looooove playing in water, especially in the rain! The buckets nearby are AJ's "rain gauges" and whenever there is a forecast for rain he puts them out.
New clothes, horsey rides and cupcakes always bring smiles.
Daddy and AJ are busy getting AJ's Pinewood Derby car ready for the big race. Last year AJ didn't win one race, but this year was different. He finally won a few and had a great time.
AJ's field day was a lot of fun. He enjoyed each activity and I loved watching him be so happy playing and competing.
We love Mrs. McFarlane! She has been such a blessing to Aaron's life. She helped us through AJ's autism diagnosis and getting him productive and organized in his school work. She helped him to know that he is a great kid and he always loves giving her hugs time he sees her. She is truly heaven sent!
I made these bouquets for Audrey's teachers. They have been so wonderful to Audrey and I thought it would be worth the time to make these and it was. But I probably won't do it again. Haha!
We have discovered a new park! We actually had a ward activity here and love it. Lots of playground equipment, a splash pad, and picnic area. Good times!
Audrey and Aaron are doing great with their weapons. Audrey wines that she doesn't want to go to martial arts because she has hit herself with them, but she is doing a great job learning how to use them. AJ likes them too, even though he hits his legs a lot since he isn't doing the right technique. I love them and think they are so fun. The tricks have come really easy to me so that helps!
Audrey's school is now out so she was able to come with me to have lunch with AJ. He only has a few weeks left and he is counting down the days.
