California Science Center with Endeavour Space Shuttle ~ April 1st 2013
On Monday we visited the California Science Center where the space shuttle Endeavour has a new home. Papa, Alicia and all her kids went with us. AJ was in heaven to say the least. It was really neat how they had displayed the shuttle by lifting it off the ground so that you could really see every aspect of it.
The engines were huge and AJ was in awe over them.
The movie showed when the shuttle was going into space and how they got the shuttle to the Science Center. It was pretty crazy how they shut down traffic in LA and towed it through the city taking down poles and trees as needed.
The Science Center had lots to see and explore. We stayed for a few hours and will definitely go back another time to see all the other displays we didn't have time to see.
The kids stepped into a hurricane simulator that had winds that went up to 75 or so miles per hours. Audrey's hair was really going crazy.
There were ping pong balls blowing and bouncing around in this case and the challenge was to try to catch one while your arm was in the black tube thing. I had fun watching everyone try to catch one. Aaron, AJ and I did ended up catching one each and it felt like quite an accomplishment.
This frozen wall was freezing cold, obviously. Aaron tried to make his own finger prints but it was just too cold.
