Lazy 5 Ranch, Daddy's 33rd Birthday, Dan Nicholas Park ~ August 27th to September 30th 2012

Last summer I took my parents to the Lazy 5 Ranch and they loved it. We went again and I especially loved watching them feed the giraffes. Audrey was brave and after a few attempts fed one by herself, screaming the whole time.

Some of the animals you feed by dropping the food into their mouth, some you have them eat out of your hand, or you just dump the food into their mouths or on the ground. It is a neat experience.

Below is a picture of a baby giraffe only a few days old.  Audrey is standing on my Grandma's walker to get the best view possible.

These pictures were taken at Dan Nicolas Park about 40 minutes away.  We spent a Saturday there as a family.  We played on 3 different playgrounds, rode the train and merry-go-round, saw some animals a the little zoo, and let AJ go "gem mining".  He loves collecting rocks and especially
colored ones.  He had so much fun finding gems! During the next few days of school he found out what his different teachers favorite colors were and gave them a gem in that color.

Above is a picture of Aaron right before he ran his first 5K race.  He has been running for several months, even up to 13 miles, but this is his first race.  He is seriously considering  running in a marathon.

Happy 33rd Birthday Aaron! The kids made a big poster to decorate for the party. They also wrapped the presents in newspaper and drew pictures on them. They each picked out a present that they could play "with" daddy.  Audrey picked some big puzzles and AJ picked a Hot Wheels race track that 2 people could play on at the same time.

Audrey and I enjoy Kindermusik class once a week with 5 other friends.  We sing, dance, play instruments, read stories and have a lot of fun.  Audrey asks to do everything "super fast" after we have done it once. She also loves to be the teacher's helper. Her favorite instruments are the cymbals and she asks for them each week even though we don't play them weekly.  They match her loud personality and totally fits as her favorite instrument.

It is still hard to believe that AJ is a Cub Scout. We are at the church every Wednesday night and it will be like that until he graduates.  So weird to think how grown up his is in many ways. He got his first badge and I got my first pin.
