Christmas in Punta Cana ~ December 24th 2011
Christmas Eve was very fun! The kids had some great activities at Club Flinstone in the morning. AJ painted a shirt and Audrey played with her friends. While the kids were there Aaron and I had the morning to ourselves. On my way to meet Aaron for our couples massage, I saw 6 of the grounds crew drinking from the green coconuts. One of them had climbed up the tall palm tree with two ropes that connected around the tree, his waist and feet. While watching them, one pointed to me to offer me one. I walked over to him as he took out his machete and cut off the top of a coconut and handed it to me. It was refreshing, but not like the brown Hawaiian coconut milk. I took it with me to share with Aaron. The picures below are of us in front of the outdoor couples massage tent. We were just being silly while drinking, but the massage was heavenly and an hour was just not long enough! Definetly a highlight of the day.
For AJ's birthday Aaron scheduled a deep sea fishing trip that they took right after lunch. While the boys were fishing, Audrey and I played at the beach. It was so beautiful I just took a bunch of pictures of Audrey as she played in the sand. As the boys finished fishing, I took some pictures of them on the fishing boat, then in the motor boat that brought them to shore. AJ reeled in a 20 pound Dolphin fish (Mahi Mahi) and a total of 4 fish were caught. The water was pretty rough but the boys held it together and had a great time.
Christmas Eve dinner is a big deal in Punta Cana. The chefs went all out decorating the buffet and restraunt with special food decorations and everything was beautiful. I took a ton of pics since it was just amazing to see.
If you decided to order from the menu, one of the meals was lobster tail, filet and salmon. Aaron got that below and his dessert was pumpkin pie surrounded by a white chocolate cup. After dinner we went back to the room and let the kids open one present. They each got a pair of pajamas and it was a great way to prepare for Christmas day.
