Soccer, Flag Football and other Fun Stuff
This blog is for the week of the 13th to the 20th. I'm so glad that I've been journaling each week and even if I get behind, I will catch up. This picture is a card I made for a friend from church whose mother passed away. She is also my visiting teaching companion and a very loving person. I like to make these kinds of cards because their unique, personal, it allows me to describe the characteristics that I admire and see in them, and it is something they can hang and look at to know that someone thinks they are wonderful.
AJ and Audrey are always wrestling around... well AJ is always chasing and grabbing Audrey to wrestle. Audrey usually laughs and has a great time before she eventually gets hurt. I love this picture of them just laughing together on the floor after AJ chased after Audrey.
Our first Spring picnic!! We had a day off of school for teacher work day and invited AJ's friend Taegan Anderson to spend the day with us. We went to the park and played for a few hours until we got to hot in the 80 degree weather. We couldn't believe how unseasonably hot it was, but we loved it anyway. My sister Cara made this jean quilt for me many years ago and it is the best picnic blanket ever!
AJ has started his 2nd season of soccer with the YMCA. He is with a group of 6 and 7 year olds and they have greater skills then his last team. His coaches are a father and son who team who don't have a son on the team, but love soccer and volunteering. They are great and have the boys playing in soccer positions and really teaching them the basic soccer skills. We have one practice during the week and games are Saturday mornings.
Audrey has decided that she doesn't like her stroller much and wants to walk or run constantly. Here she's on the track near AJ's soccer field getting some energy out before the game begins. Unfortunately a few minutes later she falls and gets her first road rash on her forehead and nose. She was of course very sad and had lots of tears. She recovered well though and had me on the move constantly through the game as she attempted to climb up the small hill next to the field throughout the whole game. Aaron was serving at the temple, which he does every 3rd Saturday, so I was on my own at the game.
After a morning of soccer, we had an afternoon of flag football. AJ had his first flag football practice. We are excited for our first football season with AJ. He is excited too!
After football practice we went to the park nearby and you can see my fearless Audrey climbing the slides and her road rash from earlier in the day.
