Drawings and Journaling

Aaron loves to draw.  This picture is of the big storm that came upon the apostles when Jesus was sleeping.  Here the apostles are trying to get the sails down, and a huge wave is about to hit the ship.

This is a project AJ did at school.  He has done a few, but I wanted to post one here to remember.  The clues to the puzzle are on the outside and the answer is on the inside.  The first clue - is red, second- it is not  a apple, third- you can buy it at the store, forth- it has tiny seeds.  He came up with the clues and wrote them by himself. When you open the clues a picture of  a strawberry is on the inside. He was very excited to show me what he accomplished.

This week was exciting  in one way and not fun in another. The great part was Aaron getting his "big" bonus from work. Aaron has worked extremely hard and all of our family has made lots of sacrifices.  But to be able to pay our debts, is an enormous relief and a huge blessing.  I can't really express the peace I feel. The not so fun part of this last week started when Audrey got "pink eye" on last Sunday.  Aaron and AJ could not touch her and that was especially difficult for AJ. He is always hugging and kissing her. On Tuesday we got her some medicine to speed the healing process.  Tuesday night before heading out the door for AJ's first soccer practice this season, Audrey fell on her bottom and cried more than she usually would.  I didn't think too much of it since she falls on her bum all the time and we needed to get to soccer. AJ's new coachs are a father and son team and they worked well with the kids.  They did a lot of drills and scrimmaged and AJ had a great time.  After practice we headed uptown to have dinner with daddy. We try to do this once a week and it is a special time for all of us.  We usually let AJ choose were we go and pizza was his choice.  Audrey was acting sensitive in her highchair and when I put her in her car seat. I got a little worried she might have pulled a muscle are really hurt something from the earlier fall.  I put her down to sleep as soon as we got home. The next morning she wasn't standing like she usually does when I go get her. When I layed her down to change her diper she cried and favored her left leg.  She clung to me and cried or whined the next half hour and I couldn't touch her left side.  I woke Aaron up and told him I was worried about Audrey.  I called the on-call nurse at Audrey's doctor's office and they recommended that I take her to the ER. Aaron got AJ off to school and I took Audrey to the ER.  We went to the Levine Children's Hospital were there was no wait.  That was amazing!  After visiting with the doctor and not finding anything wrong with muscles or bones, we discovered a huge 2 inch round swollen red bump on Audrey's bum.  She had Cellulities Absest or something like that. It was a bacterial infection. After the doctor did an ultra sound on the bump he smeared a numbing cream on it.  The bump was hard to the touch and had a little pimple head on it that the doctor squeezed and got lots of "stuff" out of it.  Sorry to gross anyone out.  Audrey was a little trooper and no wonder she had been favoring her left side when she sat or layed down.  I got some medicine for her and pretty much held her all day since she wouldn't let go except when she was sleeping. Bless her little heart. On Friday her pink eye was gone and we left the house for the park for the first time all week.  It's Sunday and her bum is looking better every day.  She is back to her active self, kicking soccerballs, eating fudge cycles with her mama, and getting into everything she shouldn't. Thank goodness for medicine!!
