Blue Belts, Driving NASCAR, Snow Fun ~ February 2015
Another graduation to celebrate. The kids are getting better every month and still enjoying the classes with very little complaining on the way there. Once at class we all have fun and never regret going.
Aaron has wanted to drive a NASCAR race car for some
time. We decided to both drive our own
cars. We watched a training video, asked
questions, got suited up and had an amazing driving experience! It was
thrilling and terrifying at the same time.
I couldn't believe how fast and focused I could be. Each lap was easier to handle and a guy spoke
in our earpieces the whole time, coaching us as we drove. Aaron drove for 8
minutes with a top speed of 152.80 MPH.
I drove for 5 minutes with at top speed of 146.54 MPH. It was definitely
an experience I'll never forget.
LET IT SNOW!!! Charlotte experienced a rare snow storm that
actually lasted several days. Almost
everything in the city shut down. We
didn't own a snow shovel so we borrowed a garden shovel from our neighbors to
clear our driveway. The kids played
outside as long as they could. We actually got snow pants, boots and real
gloves for them this year so they were actually prepared to play in the snow.
We tried sledding on a little hill in our backyard, but got
invited to use our neighbors backyard hill and had much more fun!
The best way to warm up after sledding is to jump into the
hot tub!
This was Aaron's 2nd time getting a sleep test. He was a
good sport!
More snow!!!
Snow football on the tramp. Why not!
I decorated this Minion for the Blue and Gold banquet.
Turned out better then I thought it would. Aaron and the scouts loved it. Aaron
had earned some awards and had a very fun night.
Ice ice baby! The
kids were so thrilled to have actual ice cycles hanging from the grill. Aaron was especially excited to have his
"airplane's runway" covered in ice. His Lego airplane even survived
the numerous landings and take offs.
Sadly one of our trees fell on top of our new fence while we
were away to Disney World. This is what
it looked like when we got home. It wasn't cheap to fix, but at least it hadn't
landed on our house.
