Lots of Random Summer Fun ~ August 9th -31st 2014
Ohhh the airport overlook. I can't remember a time AJ didn't love planes and his knowledge of them, their sizes, styles, colors, and ages astounds me.
Believe it or not... this is a weed that grew behind my fence between some trees ( and they are all along the fence making a tunnel perfect for little boys to explore).
The kids made these signs for Aunt Cristy, but I had forgotten to take a picture of them so even though she is already gone I have documented them and can now take them down without getting into trouble from the kids.
Playing at the Discovery Place. No, that is not a real fish above and yes, Audrey built her own car and raced the boys winning most of the time. A lot of the time Aaron will stay in the "science class room" the whole 2 hours we are there.
A new addition to the kitchen was a light above the table. I had my handy man put it up but I hung each ball. It was quite a project and we love the results! We still have an empty dinning room and music room but they will get furnished eventually.
Spending the morning at Carowinds. Audrey gets more brave each time we go and wishes she was taller to ride even more rides.
My princess while she bowls. AJ get super excited when he knock some pins down and has a little celebration he does. They are very entertaining to watch!
We got together with our friends the Ince family and went to Dan Nicholas park. Dollar train and Carousel rides, gem mining, splash pad, small petting zoo, lots of playground equipment, and more!
In the summer we often drive to Columbus, SC with Daddy when he goes to serve at the temple. The kids I drop him off then sometimes head to the Children's Museum to play.
We had a unique opportunity to spend time with cousin Kelsey Burns. She will be attending art school in Winston-Salem 1.5 hours away. She flew into town with her dad and we celebrated by going to Kabuto. It was the kids first time and they loved watching the chef prepare our food right in front of us. They also tried realllllly hard to use chop sticks that were made for beginners.
Summer fun with friends...
AJ had been begging to take the Lynx light rail since we moved to Charlotte. Today we finally did. We walked around Uptown, went to the park right across the street from the baseball stadium, saw a Firetruck park outside of the stadium and raise its ladder with an American flag. AJ couldn't have been happier. Daddy walked from his building to meet us for pizza which was a highlight of the day. They also played in the water and had a great adventure.
We graduated to our green belts today! We love class and continue to enjoy martial arts.
My dear friend asked me to make some cupcakes to celebrate her daughter getting baptized. She had these cute "8 is great" sticks made and it turned out simple and cute.
Audrey and I had a big project today. There is a circle in our grass with bricks on it. There used to be a swing here that the old owners had, but we wanted more grass. So Audrey and I started digging up the bricks and we got more of a workout then we had anticipated. But, we finally finished and are excited to have more grass to play on.
Dyan is in town and its such a treat to have a sister here visiting. I love this girl and I'm glad for the possibility of seeing her more with Kelsey going to school nearby!
More Discovery Place adventures!
Matthews Day Parade and AJ's favorite parts were the firetrucks and ambulances with their lights and sirens. This is probably not surprising to anyone who knows how obsessed he is with these trucks.
Having fun with cousins at their dentist's office customer appreciation party! Seriously cool to have the horses to ride...
