Cristy in Charlotte, Knight's baseball, Lazy 5 Ranch, Savannah, Charleston~August 1st -8th 2014

Audrey was smitten with her older cousins! We sadly left Utah to head back to Casper just for one day then on to the Denver airport to go home. BUT, Cristy was coming home with us and we were sooo excited!!!

We loved having Cristy fly home with us, watch our martial arts class (and see me twist my ankle and barely be able to walk afterwards for several days), hang out with us at home playing games, eating yummy food, and watching movies.  We enjoyed taking her around Charlotte and going to a Knight's baseball game.

It was a gorgeous night and just little hot! I can't tell you how happy I was to have Cristy with me!

I'm pretty sure Cristy won't forget the Lazy 5 Ranch! Feeding animals right from a plastic bucket doesn't happen often.

These little goats are a favorite for everyone we bring here.

Good bye kids, hello Savannah, Georgia! Aaron and I left the kids with friends and took Cristy to see some of the real South! Our first meal was at Lady and Sons owned by Paula Dean. Yummy southern food and more than we could possibly eat, but we tried.

One of my favorite things to do is take a carriage tour all around the breathtaking squares of Savannah.  The Spanish Moss hanging from the trees make the setting magical. We love the beautiful sites and Aaron was a great photographer the whole trip.

So many historic homes and churches to admire!

The waterfront is always fun to wander by.  Lots steamboats and tugboats to see and shops to browse. One of our favorites is a candy shop where we watch them make salt water taffy and then eat it!

This picture isn't one that I'd normally share because of how flattering it is but... Cristy and I tried a piece of taffy that was some mint flavor and after chewing for a few seconds we looked at each other and both of us wanted to throw-up.  It tasted just like Mr Clean smells.  We just busted out laughing and couldn't stop until our stomachs hurt, as you can see in this picture Aaron took of us. A sweet memory with my sister.

We walked around many of the town squares with their beautiful fountains, trees and historic homes.

We crossed the bridge leaving Savannah and headed to take Cristy to her first lighthouse!

Tybee Island was super cool to share with Cristy.  It was a first for all of us! We walked up 178 steps to the top and got an amazing view of the beach and surrounding town. It was just so neat to be there with Aaron and Cristy!

We has so much fun and just kept making unforgettable memories!

Cristy was so excited to see the Atlantic ocean for the first time just beyond this pier!!! So cute!

First time with feet in the water and sand.  We even hunted for shells and got splashed by some waves.

Cristy's first Krispy Kreme experience. Yummy! But still doesn't come close to our daddy's donuts!

We pulled into Charlotte around dinner time and headed to a restaurant we'd never been to called 39 Rue de Jean. It was delicious!!

We outdid our selves at breakfast at Virginia's on King. Perfect way to start the day, even if it was too much food.

We walked around the battery,  looked out towards Fort Sumter, and viewed famous southern houses.

A red door means good luck.

We walked all over Charleston. We saw so many beautiful historic buildings and churches.  We visited one of the churches.

We continued to wander Charleston's market area with lots of stores where slaves used to sell their goods. Many of their decedents still make the sweet-water baskets that are gorgeous! It is neat to watch them make them.

Sadly we had to leave and head back home.  We stopped by a southern BBQ buffet that was one of a kind with a huge variety of southern foods! Cristy was a good sport to try some new dishes you don't find in Wyoming. This was definitely a trip I'll never forget!
