Fun Times With Water, Sand and Ice ~ July 23rd - August 3rd 2012
We went over to our cousins house with the intent to get very wet! We set up a sprinkler by their slide and made our own waterside. It was grassy and muddy at the bottom, but right afterwards a quick dip in the pool cleaned it all off. The slide was super slippery and the kids flew down.
We also enjoy going to parks with fun fountains like this one. The summers here are very hot and humid! We are only outside at the park early in the mornings, or playing in the water any other time of the day. One park we went to with our cousins had a big pond with ducks that the kids liked to watch. AJ and Audrey love playing in the sand and this particular park had a great sand volleyball court perfect for playing in.
Just a few pictures from our latest visit to Carowinds Amusement Park. We like to use our passes to go once a week for just a few hours at a time. On the roller coaster, AJ is in the front seat. He will often ride the rides 2 to 3 times in a row if there is an empty seat on the next ride that he can jump right into.
AJ and I made frozen dinosaur eggs. We forced small plastic dinosaurs into the balloons, blew them up to push them to the back of the balloon, then filled it up with water. Next we put them in the freezer for several days. After they were frozen the dinosaurs inside looked huge. AJ and Audrey proceeded to peel the balloons off the ice and throw the eggs as hard as they could to break it. They had so much fun watching the ice shatter and fly in all directions. I had fun watching them and editing the pictures to be a little more original.
AJ has been saving his Fusion bottles (a V8 juice that he drinks since he won't eat fruits or veggies) for a very long time. He wanted to recycle them by turning them into a toy of some sort. He had 2 garbage sacks full when I saw the idea on Pinterest to make jet packs. I gladly made several jet packs for cousins and neighbors to get rid of the bags of bottles in his room. They turned our super cute and fun.
