AJ started winter basketball. He has a 45 min. practice and then a 45 min. game right afterwards every Saturday through February. He is finally getting the hang of offense and defense. He is really quick to get back on defense and likes to stay right under the basket to get the rebounds. He is also shooting much better this year and passes the ball pretty regularly. I think he just might have some ball skills after all.
AJ is mixing some play dough. It was the first time he would help me since he can't stand to touch slimy/sticky stuff. He did a great job and even cut the dough for me.
My friend Lisa came with me and the kids to the Billy Graham Library. We stood in line for 1.5 hours to take a carriage ride and see a live manger. It was cold, but we had hot chocolate and sang some songs with the people behind us in line. The ride was really fun and a first for all of us. It was neat to see the live manger with camels, a donkey, sheep and a goat. We went inside the Library and saw beautiful tree, but it was too crowded to tour so we'll go back another time.
We love to go outside and play in the yard. Audrey and AJ like to pull the berries off the trees and bushes and throw them. AJ decided to spread them all over our sidewalk and drive-way in case bad guys come, they will slip and fall on the berries.
It is December, but we are still enjoying 60 and 70 degree weather. We'll continue to enjoy it for as long as it lasts.
Audrey got a stuffed animal dog from Grandma Sorensen. She calls it Ruff Ruff, and loves to take it everywhere we go. It is super soft and the only kind of dog we will ever own!
I'm one of the "Room Parents" for AJ's class. At his holiday party I helped the kids make these paper plate snowmen. Then we had the kids play some games and earn some treats and glow sticks. We also put together some treat bags to donate to other kids in Charlotte. Here AJ is eating a vanilla cupcake, his favorite. He is so excited for school to be over and vacation to begin.
