New Kitchen, Piggy Tails and Spring Cookies~ March 21-27th

I love this picture! When I was a kid I also loved the Sunday comics. It makes me smile to see AJ reading them. He loves to read books too and I enjoy going to the library with him.  He sits in the aisles and grabs books about dinosaurs to start with and if he likes the pictures he'll put the book in his little basket for us to read together at home.  He also likes books about any animals or sea creatures and then whatever I pick out for him.  He also likes to look through and read the Friend and our daily Scripture Power we get at breakfast.  I read to him while he eats like my mom used to.

Audrey loves to open and close any door! I found this "kitchen" at a used kids store and thought it would be perfect for my little door opener.  Here are a few pics of her and AJ playing with the new kitchen.

This is Audrey's hiding place.  When I need to change her diaper, or she has something like the tv remote that she is not supposed to have, she runs and hides behind the table and chairs.

I have started putting 2 pigtails in Audrey's hair and it is soooo cute.  It is getting long and is always in her eyes.  She pulls out the bows, but the pig tails usually stay in! I get compliments on them and her eyes all the time

I made some spring flower cookies for the teachers at AJ's school the other day.  So fun and yummy!

Here is my handsome boy doing his 2 daily homework assignments.  He has a short spelling activity with his 5 spelling words. He often will write the words and circle the vowels, or put them in alphabetical order. Then he has a short general hw assignment which usually involves something like making a list of words with the short e sound or reading a book and writing a sentence about it. He likes to do as much of it as possible by himself and he always asks me to pick the homework that will take the shortest amount of time to complete. After he finishes his homework he does one chore and then he can play.  We have started giving him a weekly allowance.  I made 3 sections in a shoe box with tithing, mission fund, and savings labeled on the top.  If he does not do his homework or his daily chore, he owes me a quarter for each at the end of the week. He pays his tithing first, then mission fund and the rest goes into savings for whatever he wants.

I took this picture awhile ago but love it and wanted it in this family journal. It looks so real.
