Fire Stations, Beach, School Starts ~ August 2015

Aaron loves to visit fire stations throughout the summer and this is just one more.

Aaron and Joshua are having a great time gem mining.

Aaron and I decided to buy a piano and we went to a colleges music program that sells their pianos at the end of each school year. We found a beauty that was bran new and had probably sat in a professor's office all year.

We had a great vacation in Hilton Head with the Ince Family. We played at several beaches and soaked up the sun. The kids made sand castles, dug holes and took turns on the boogie boards.

While the dads waited in line for a restaurant, Kaydee and I discovered a fire station to visit.  Aaron was beyond excited and the firefighters were happy to give the kids a tour.

We ate at a delicious dinner and found a great playground nearby for the kids. There was a beautiful sunset and view from where we were hanging out.

We took some time to tour the amazing lighthouse nearby.  It was a neat experience and we could see for miles at the top.  It was super windy and fun.

This cool tree house was a good activity for awhile.  Climbing and pretending kept the kids entertained while the adults relaxed and shopped.

Our piano came!! I love it. Now we just need to finish the music room and start lessons.

The kids love the water park at Carowinds.

Aaron thought it would be easy to rake the leaves if he dragged the rake behind him as he rode his 4-wheeler. Audrey followed him around with a bag for the leaves.

We made some cotton candy one night which is always an exciting event.  While Daddy and Aaron were riding their bikes they came across a snake.  It was cool and scary.

We were invited to cousins house and played on this fun water bouncy house. The kids had a blast and stayed out there as long as they could.

Aaron had a very fun time at a den meeting where he received many awards.

Today we went to the airport fire station. It became our favorite station.  The firefighters were super nice as always, but while standing in the station you can see planes land and take off 50 feet away. It is also where the national guard have their firetrucks that we got to see.

After this picture Aaron announced that he had found his "happy place"! As he sits on the end of this fire truck he watches airplanes land and couldn't be happier.

The kids and I had another graduation in our martial arts class and earned our next belt.

Aaron is off for his first day of school at The Epiphany School of Charlotte.  We feel so blessed to have found a school just for kids with Aspergers and other social disorders.  He is excited to go to a school that will understand and accept him.  Dad took him for a donut then dropped him off. The school is located in the education wing of The Covenant Church.

Yes, we are visiting another fire station... Luckily Audrey has almost as much fun as Aaron when we visit these stations.

I know Audrey isn't asleep, but it sure is a sweet picture. I love it so much because they are at peace with each other here, and that is a rare occasion when they are awake.

Audrey is going to Kindergarten! She was beyond excited to say the least.  She had her outfit laid out the night before and had discussed with me who she wanted her hair.  Aaron was also excited for her and came with me to walk her to her class.

The first day was a success and then came the excitement of a new gymnastics class as well.

Audrey's new teacher is Mrs. Ebert.

A friend asked me to make her son a cake with a Captain America shield. I liked how it turned out.
My friend Danielle organized "An Amazing Race". We invited Matt and Adele and had one of the funnest dates we've had as a couple. Drinking the Slurpee was truly painful in such a short time. Deciphering the clues,  hurrying to each location and performing random acts was a blast!

Audrey discovered that  wet chalk is very fun and can get very dirty.  Good thing she can wash up in the fountain and not in my sink!
