Christmas After Punta Cana, Zoo Christmas Lights, More Christmas ~ December 27th to 31st 2014

I cringe every time I see this sad picture! It was horrible how it all happened.  We were at the airport in Punta Cana waiting for a hour or so before we could board the plane.  Audrey as usual was running around and I purposefully picked an area with as few people as possible.  Aaron had just gone to check on our seating arrangements for the plane. Audrey was running and she ran right into a wall statue's hand.  It was horrible.  She was screaming and her cheek was bleeding and Aaron was somewhere else so I ran with her in my arms to a pharmacy nearby.  All they could do was give me napkins with water poured on them. I tried to get the bleeding under control and hold Audrey while she was crying very loudly.  A worker called someone to come help us and then Aaron finally came.  We got some pain medicine and took turns holding Audrey while she cried for the next hour.  She finally fell asleep right before we boarded the plane and slept the whole plane ride home. Once we got home we had a neighbor doctor feel her cheek and he didn't believe any bones were broken, but we did see an eye doctor the following day and got x-rays.  Luckily there was no damage to her eye and besides it being swollen and black and blue there would be no permanent damage.  It hurt her a lot, but she was excited for us to have another Christmas at home with gifts from each other and family.

The gifts below were made by Audrey in her pre-school class.

Nothing like Christmas after Christmas. We didn't have room to take all the gifts to Punta Cana, so we had another "Christmas" once we got home. We love our gifts from Alicia, Grammy, and Papa.

Audrey did great at the doctors as they made sure everything was ok with her eye. She held still as a statue for the x-rays and did well after her eyes were dilated. She liked the glasses she got, but we did trade them for some of her own soon after. Thankfully there is no permanent damage to her eye.

Aaron sure had fun putting this Lego truck and boat together! Aunt Kathy knows what he loves!

Since we still had another vacation day we spent the morning relaxing at home and in the hot tub. Then in the afternoon we went to see the lights at the Columbia Zoo. They were really beautiful, but we were especially cold from just coming from a hot climate.

The fire felt so good on our cold hands.  We made some smores that were delicious too.

We fell in love with this little koala bear. It was the first time we saw him awake and we just couldn't get enough of him.

In the picture below you can kind of see the "fake snow" coming down.  It is really bubbles that are shot out and have the appearance of snow.

More Christmas! Uncle Brian and Aunt Jessica had our names this year and we loved their presents!

We got out the cotton candy machine for New Years Eve and took it over to our neighbors house! So fun!
