Grammy, Papa, and Kathy Visit ~ November 5th - 30th 2013
We love a nice day in December. Playing sports, visiting fun parks, then the next day gathering just enough snow that fell in a few hours to make a snow ball. Sadly the snow didn't last longer than that.
Audrey had her first check-up. She did a great job and even had fun visiting the dentist.
Grammy, Papa and Kathy came for Thanksgiving!! We have been so blessed with family visiting this month. While we were in Chicago in June, we bought 2 pizzas from Giordanos and took them home to freeze until Grammy and Papa came. They lived in Chicago during Aaron's elementary years and loved this pizza. They were surprised and happy to have it again.
It's a tradition to celebrate Aaron's birthday while they are in town. We had a fun family party and red Lego cake as requested by Aaron.
We spent a fun day at the Discovery Place. Kathy got her hands wet touching star fish and crabs. Grammy touched a lizard and both she and Papa laid on a bed of nails. We had a great time playing at the different stations and learning new things.
Another Roome tradition is playing with trains at Christmas time, or whenever Papa comes to town. AJ and Papa could play for hours if they had enough energy.
Ballet and cuddling is fun any time of the day!
Papa helped us light the pilot lights in our fire places. We were so excited!
Photo shots in the backyard. Audrey has jazz hands in this picture for some reason. So cute!
A Roome family tradition made long before I became a Roome was Papa making Eggs Benedict on Christmas morning. Since they wouldn't be here for Christmas, we had them on Thanksgiving morning. They are amazing!
Grammy helped us prepare our Thanksgiving meal. We invited Shirley, our friend and neighbor from our old neighborhood, over too eat with us. She sent us these beautiful flowers to enjoy. We had a great meal and wonderful conversation. I love good food and family! Its a win win for sure!
Time to decorate gingerbread houses or trains. AJ and Grammy are decorating a train this year. Audrey and I am decorating a Cinderella castle.
We love decorating the Christmas tree with Grammy. Most of the decorations on it were made by her while Aaron was growing up. She made one each Christmas for her kids and put them in a box. When we married she gave it to us. It is fun to pull them out each year.
