Big Girl Bed, Soccer, Boo Zoo, Halloween ~ October 2013
Audrey has definitely outgrown her crib. The picture above is her last night sleeping in her crib and the picture below is the new bed. I moved it around a few times to see where I wanted it but then decided to push it up against the wall until I new she wasn't going to fall out. She fell in love with the bed and dressers immediately and invites everyone who comes over to see it. Grammy Roome gave the quilt to Audrey a few months ago in preparation for the arrival of her big girl bed! Audrey is officially a "Big Girl"!
The last thing we needed to do on the house this year was put lights in the library/office/game room. I also finally finished decorating this room and the fireplace mantel in the great room. Horray!! I had some friends help out and they did a great job. So glad to be done decorating for awhile!
Audrey has started her first soccer class. It is a great program that mixes fitness and soccer skills. She is loving it and has a competitive spirit inside of her.
The picture below is the stance Audrey takes after she has scored a goal. It makes me laugh every time she does it.
Aaron continues to love soccer and improves each season. I get wrapped up in his games and forget to take pictures.
Aaron and Audrey are taking turns riding the "elevator" up and down the stairs. It is a special reward when the kids are behaving. We really just want grandparents to come and use it because we never see them as often as we would like.
These pictures are of Audrey after she received her first soccer medal. She loved the class and is looking forward to more soccer in her future!
Grandma and Grandpa came to visit us and we are so happy!! One of our adventures took us to Columbia, SC to the zoo. First we just visited all the animals for a few hours. Then we went to dinner, the kids got their costumes on and we went back when it was dark for Boo Zoo. There were fun Halloween lights, trick-or-treating, and lit up animals figures.
Love love my daddy's bread. He also used the dough for scones and cinnamon rolls. I always gain a few pounds when they visit. The kids love to get their hands dirty too.
Grandma and Audrey made a fort out of this box and decorated it with sidewalk chalk. Nice job! Then we all pitched in to clean and fill the hot tub. Everyone was excited to get in as soon as the water heated up.
Grandma and Grandpa enjoyed a morning at the Discovery Place. They probably learned more then they wanted to know about some things, but had a great time exploring the place.
Grandpa and Audrey are playing a smelling game. You have to squeeze the bottle then match the smell with a picture. It was actually fun. My mom loved seeing the tropical fish at the aquarium.
Yes my dad laid on a bed of nails. He is one tough daddy!!
Dracula and Spider Girl had a blast at the trunk-or-treat at our church. They had lots of fun games, chili cook off, and yummy desserts. Then the kids circled the parking lot several times to fill their bags full of candy!
Audrey had a costume parade at her preschool. She was so excited to show her super hero costume! Go Spider Girl!
On the actual night of Halloween we met up with our neighborhood friends at the clubhouse for pizza. Then we all took off throughout the neighborhood. It was neat starting off like that. There are several cul-de-sacs (don't know if I spelled that right) in our neighborhood. The neighbors would put a long table at the front of the cul-de-sac and have a bowl from each neighbor on the table. They would be sitting around visiting all together. So fun and friendly. I loved it and it made trick-or-treating a lot easier. Grandma and Grandpa were happy to be at our house handing out candy while we walked the neighborhood. I finally got to meet many neighbors I hadn't bet yet.
Love the fall foliage around Charlotte. This tree is in our backyard. Next month we will go spend a day at Chimney Rock and see some amazing fall colors!
