Trunck or Treat, Blue Ridge Parkway, Plaza Fiesta, Trick-or-Treat ~ Oct. 14th - 31st

Many of our friends from church got together for a trunk-or-treat. The kids had a great time of course.  We had a pumpkin carving contest and AJ won. He drew a picture of what he wanted the pumpkin to look like and I did the carving.  Then he wanted me to glitter the pumpkin red, his favorite color.  It turned out really scary and cool! Audrey has 2 little friends, Kayla and Riley, that she talks about daily and Kayla is in this picture with Audrey and AJ.

These next few pictures are before we went to a 2nd church Halloween party/trunk-or-treat with friends from the ward we just moved out of. We took some Halloween cupcakes and loved visiting with our friends we don't see as often as we'd like. They had some fun games set up for the kids, a chili cook-off, costume contest, and costume parade. AJ hung out with friends and I chased Audrey while visiting as much as I could. During the trunk-or-treat, Audrey loved asking, "Candy please" and carried her pumpkin around like a champ, following her brother's example.

I get to volunteer at AJ's school Old Providence. I help the kids complete AR tests and tutor a few of the students in his class. One morning the school had "Donuts with Dad" and Aaron was able to take AJ to school and have a donut with him.  What a great idea!

AJ built this airport all by himself!

Although our camera is NOT very good, we had a great time driving along the Blue Ridge Parkway near Asheville looking at the fall foliage at its peak.  We stopped at numerous lookouts and one had this waterfall. Aaron and AJ hiked just a bit while I stayed in the car as Audrey took a little nap. Last year we went to Grandfather Mountain and walked the Mile High Bridge. I love the fall and our yearly day trips to see the fall foliage here in beautiful North Carolina.

Aaron and I took the kids to Plaza Fiesta one Saturday. It is a 3 story indoor playground. I didn't actually get pictures of the outside of it, don't know why, but all 4 of us were tired out by the time we left. AJ wants to have his birthday party here so I'll get more pictures of it then.

This is Halloween night! Our third time wearing our Halloween costumes. Aaron was able to get off work early and we went trick-or-treating with Karin Blauer and her family. We walked around her neighborhood and loaded up with candy.  AJ made sure everyone stayed safe especially looking out for Audrey who insisted on running from house to house to get candy. She had one sucker in her mouth before we even left the first house. AJ slightly overcame his fear of dogs and managed to get candy from houses with a dog at the door. He doesn't like chocolate, but made sure to get peanut M&Ms for his dad if chocolate was all they offered. After we finished trick-or-treating we went to Karin's for some yummy hot chocolate and AJ got a chance to trade some of his chocolate candy.
