Eat and Play is What We Do Best! June 1st - 15th
Dancing and playing with my stroller are a few of my favorite things.
AJ is still pretty picky about what he eats, but he can eat in any direction. He has added hamburgers, and any meat as long as it is doesn't have any "slimy" sauces on it. This is definitely an improvement to his diet.
Audrey and I got matching aprons for my birthday. She looks much cuter in hers then I do in mine. She is helping me out in the kitchen. She likes playing in her toy kitchen, especially opening and closing the doors. She gets into all my kitchen drawers and pulls everything out. She especially likes to get the sandwich size zip lock bags and open them all. If I sing the clean-up song she will put them back into the box. She loves that song and sings the tune with her own words.
AJ went to a birthday party and got these silly glasses and Dracula teeth. He thought he was so funny when he wore them at the same time. He is pretty creative and cute! He also wore these in the shower because it would be more fun that way! I think everything is more fun when you have AJ's imagination.
Life is better when you have a spoon for each hand!
Yes, I am Super Girl. I don't walk but run on my tippy toes and mommy is always waiting for me to fall forward on my nose. I also eat like a champion, especially my fruits and vegetables. I can also make anyone do what I want just by blinking my baby blue eyes and smiling. If that doesn't work I just scream, really loud and then laugh because its fun.
AJ absolutely loves his sister. He has constantly hugged and kissed her since she was born. She allows it to a point and then screams at him. She loves it best when they are playing, wrestling, or chasing each other around the house. My favorite is when they are walking and holding hands. When anyone, especially Audrey, gets hurt AJ runs to get a wet washcloth to puts it where it hurts. He is very loving and compassionate.
AJ loves to read the Sunday comics!
If this step was just a little taller...
When Audrey isn't afraid of the remote control car, she really likes it! AJ loves them which is no surprise.
Audrey loves to eat Cheerios. She loves to say "Ohhhhs" and it is so cute too!! She will eat them any time of day and at any location. Usually it isn't just one at a time either...
AJ loved kindergarten!! His teacher Ms. Crist won his heart and help him learn how to be a good student. He wanted to go to school to see her and all his friends. I had the privilege to volunteer as a tutor every Wednesday and then spend recess and lunch with AJ and his class. It was one of my favorite times of the week. AJ was always happy and proud to have me at the school. These next pictures are of a special field day he had with his class on one of the last days of school. I was there helping and enjoying all of the kids on this super fun day.
We love the Discovery Place here in uptown Charlotte. Lots of fun learning activities and more. We come here often and love it!
Audrey opened and closed this door for about 10 minutes.
AJ had his first season of flag football. He didn't especially like it, but he stuck with it and didn't give up. Maybe in a few years we'll try again if he wants. I think knowing that he'd get a trophy helped him stay in the game!
AJ's last day of school was bitter-sweet! I spent most of the day helping in the class and trying not to cry. I loved volunteering in the classroom and the kids loved me. I couldn't have asked for a better teacher for AJ and his first year of school. He was very sad, but had a fun day anyway. He asked me to buy Ms. Crist some flowers and I let him pick some out at Costco. Throughout the year he'd made her cards, bead necklaces, given flowers, cookies and more. He also had a great teacher assistant Mr. Wade. I worked with him the most when I volunteered and he was great with the kids. AJ also really liked his principal Ms. Phalan. It was a special year at Sharon and we will miss it since we are moving to a different area and a different school in July.
