The Roome Report

For our 12th anniversary Aaron and I went to Atlanta, GA for the weekend.  We had a special New Holland Society event to attend on Saturday night and made a weekend out of it. Saturday afternoon we went to the Botanical Gardens.  They were amazing!!       After we toured the Botanical Gardens we checked into our hotel and got ready to go the High Museum of Art. Once at the museum we met up with the other members of the New Holland Society for our private tour of the Dutch paintings from the Mauritshuis. The main attraction was Johannes Vermeer's painting Girl with a Pearl Earring. All the people were very nice and the paintings were beautiful. It was neat having our own tour with a guide to give us background information about each painting. Afterwards we socialized and enjoyed some yummy appetizers.     Afterwards Aaron surprised me with a yumm...

Our neighborhood had a 4th of July bike parade. All the kids decorated their bikes and rode through the neighborhood to the pool for a party.  We swam and played water games, ate BBQ and had a great time. Audrey jumped off the diving board for the first time and loved it. I was excited to meet some people in the neighborhood.    The house is finally painted, the entertainment system put in and the furniture we've found and ordered is finally starting to come in. Some we haven't liked and are returning but we are excited to have the room coming together. Its starting to feel like our home. I love this little game area between the great room and the kitchen.  I like to play board games and cards with the kids here.  Next we will work on getting pictures to hang up and some decorations around the fireplace mantle and tables once they come.  AJ has wanted to visit the Aviation Museum ...
