Grandpa Robbie, USS Midway, Reagan Library, Service, Women's Conference ~ April 2015
We were so blessed to have cousins Molly and LJ come with Todd and his mom Sherry to visit while on Spring Break. They stayed with Kelsey in Winston-Salem for a few days then came to Charlotte for 2 nights. We played outside, went to a movie, and loved taking them to Carowinds. We stayed all day and rode every ride we wanted. We made such great memories!
AJ and Audrey love getting packages from grandparents!
Aaron and I were privileged to attend the sealing of our friend Jorge. It was a beautiful day for everyone!
The kids and cousins sure had a fun time looking for their Easter baskets. We love going to California every year for Spring Break. Each Easter we have traditions that we look forward to like dying eggs, hunting for eggs, and enjoying dinner with all the Roome family members.
Aaron is always so excited to see fruit trees.
Daddy and Dolphe had a day to spend together. Of course it involved food and manly fun of some sort.
We love the beach but especially with cousins!
We enjoy visiting Grandpa Robbie and Carol in San Diego each year. We drive there for lunch which he always pays for and then we visit for a bit and catch up on each others lives. After lunch we headed to tour the USS Midway. It was super cool seeing all the aircraft and the carrier and we learned a lot about those great men and women who protected us on this massive ship.
After leaving the air craft carrier we headed to dinner that had a great view of the city and coast.
Little Audrey was watching a movie while we finished eating but was clearly too tired to stay awake.
We were even able to see into the Padre's baseball stadium.
Aaron and Audrey love to wear the robes that are in our hotel rooms.
This is the great view from our hotel room.
We enjoyed a beautiful day visiting Old Town and especially the Mormon Battalion Museum. We loved walking through it and seeing the movies and hearing presentations of these brave Mormons.
We were excited when we met a sister missionary who was from North Carolina.
We found a yummy Mexican restaurant that made their own tortillas and had Mexican music played for us.
We found a candle maker and watched him make several candles that were beautiful. We bought one that would look great in our bathroom.
Our next adventure took us to the Ronald Reagan Library with our cousins. It was awesome going inside Air Force One, a helicopter, and toured the library.
Reagan was a TV reporter and actor. The kids got a chance to see what it would be like to report some news.
The kids love hanging out with Papa and watching movies.
One of our favorite restaurants is North Woods Inn. Aaron loves the peanuts they give you and you just throw the shells on the floor. They have yummy bread that comes with a cheese butter on top and just good food in general.
On our way to the airport our shuttle bus was empty so Audrey took a whole bench for herself.
Aaron is always so helpful getting the suitcases off the conveyor belt and rolling them to the car.
Someone has eaten a fudge cycle.
Aaron hurt his ankle and wanted to show off his wrap.
I made this cake for a mother who wanted a Mickey Mouse cake for her little boy. The face was really hard but overall it turned out pretty good.
Audrey, Aaron and I am still happy to be learning martial arts.
We are with members from our church providing service for The Matthews Help Center. We are making cards for the volunteers, planting flowers, pulling weeds and spreading pine straw.
This cute house is in one of the libraries we visit.
Getting inside this thing was not easy and the umbrella helped him to say cool.
Aaron was so excited to see a firetruck a few doors down from us. Their home alarm went off while they were out of town so there was no fire, thankfully!
Audrey picked out her clothes for school and put Belle inside to make sure it would look good. LOL
Audrey made crowns for her and Aaron out of paper bags.
I had the great experience of practicing and singing The Garden with so many wonderful singers from the stake.
Audrey, Aaron and I graduated to our next belt. Our weapon was the Kama.
Aaron found a huge branch and wanted me to take a picture of it.
We love playing games together.
I had the wonderful opportunity of going to Provo and meeting my sisters Cara, Dyan and Cristy for Women's conference. We laughed, cried, learned and were inspired. We went to the Payson temple open house and did a session together in the bountiful temple. I love these sisters and Jan who wasn't able to come with all my heart!
