Outdoor Play, Nature Museum, Swim Lessons, Mothers Day, Ballet Dress Rehearsal ~May 2013

We are enjoying some outdoor fun in our neighborhood.  It is weird to think that on the 23rd we will close on our house and it will be ours!! I still can't believe they accepted our offer, but it is real and we are more than excited!! Lots of planning, inspecting, getting the floors refinished, painting, landscaping, electrician for new outlets for Aaron's amazing home entertainment system and the guys to put in the system and fans for the kids and guest bedroom, movers...  It is exciting and overwhelming and will all work out I'm sure.

The kids were so cute making us soup! Audrey loves collecting berries,  leaves, pine needles and flowers to make food in the kitchen or to put in her bike basket.

We took Aaron to the Nature Museum with us on Saturday.  He has never been before since I usually take the kids during the week. We had a fun time and I'm glad it gives us another place to take the kids to be entertained.

Audrey took her first swimming lesson at the YMCA. She was so happy and giddy each lesson.  She cheered and hugged the teachers and was fearless.  It was fun going to her lessons and watching her actually let someone coach her.  She rarely lets me teach or help her since she is so independent and stubborn.  Actually AJ was/is exactly the same.  Man its hard sometimes, but hopefully it will serve them well in their futures. As long as they are stubborn for the right reasons.

Audrey's class had a Mother's Day "Muffins with Mom". She made the cutest picture and got so happy when I came to her school.  She is excited anytime I stay for any reason.  I love it. AJ loves it when I come tutor and have lunch at his school too.  Its great one on one time with them outside of the house and we all love it.  The kids seem to be on their best behavior and so its always enjoyable.  Wish it was that way at home too, but I'll just be grateful for what I can get.

The picture above cracks me up! Audrey is actually saying "cheese" but I think she doesn't get that while saying it, a smile is supposed to appear on her face.  I confess that I take a lot of pictures and the cheese comes automatically to her, its just not producing the outcome I desire.  I try to say "smile" now instead of "cheese".  Only works part of the time. Sometimes she even yells cheese at me!! Like in the picture above...

I went with AJ's class on their field trip to Matthew's library, town hall, and an old fashion hardware store all within walking distance of each other. The children learned about city government and the mayor even stopped by. A few lucky kids were able to sit in the actual chairs of those who sit on the city council. AJ was one of the students picked and he was so happy. We had a picnic for lunch and headed to the hardware store.  He was so impressed with all the tools, hardware, plants and especially the chicks they had for sale. He adores any thing, animal, or human that is in baby form.

Aaron became a runner almost 2 years ago. I have never had a desire to run, only to play sports and do yoga. So I only ran to get into shape to play.  Well, some friends of mine from church have 2 sons who need kidney transplants and they planned a 5K race to raise money.  Aaron had mentioned earlier that it would be fun to run a race together so I started training.  I actually did the Couch to 5K program and could run 3 miles.  About 3 weeks before the race my knee started clicking and I got scared and decided to stop running.  I've done yoga for 2 years now and love it and use the elliptical for cardio.  I didn't know if I could handle the high impact of running and I guess I couldn't.  When it came time to run the race I decided to do it anyway and I'm glad I did.  Aaron finished way ahead of me but I was happy with my time and it felt good to have trained and met a goal! I actually wish I could run.  I didn't really enjoy it, but it always felt like an accomplishment when I finished. Plus its cheap and takes less time than yoga and the elliptical but o'well. Daddy got to kiss his princess after the race, lucky girl!!!

Another great soccer season and another end of the season pizza party!

We love the Discovery Place! There are lots of activities to keep everyone busy and happy!

Its May 23rd and the house is ours!!! We have keys so it is official! Everything went at the Closing. We signed all the papers and now we start making it ours!  We are trying to figure out the layout for the great room. We are very excited to buy new furniture and found a couch that we love. Its the leather couch below.  It is the first couch that has ever fit Aaron and his long legs.  I love it because it is so comfortable and all of us can fit on it very easily. We are getting the floors refinished, painting all the rooms, cleaning all the carpets and we will move in on June 13th.

Audrey had a little party with parents invited on her last day of 2-3 year old Pre-School. Next year she will go 4 days a week and have 2 new teachers. We really liked Mrs. Amy and Mrs. Sandra.

Aaron got a medal for reaching his AR reading goal at school.

The kids are overjoyed for another season of Carowinds Amusument Park.  We love having fun places to go to during the summertime and will most likely be here once a week.  Aaron will probably be tall enough to ride the big rides by the end of the summer.  It is an exciting thought.  He loves the roller coasters! Audrey loves all her little rides but I think he favorite one is the little roller coaster that she can ride.

Aaron and I are putting together some outdoor furniture for our backyard.  We are not moved in yet but still love being at the house doing projects when we can. AJ drew our family with chalk and did a great job! Audrey loves her water table and it is getting warm enough to want to get wet when we are outside.

Its is finally time to get Audrey some of her own Legos. Hopefully having her own will help her not want to play with her brothers Legos, right? We will see, but I hope so!

I went to AJ's field day at school and he had a great time playing all the sports they offered and especially the climbing wall.

Audrey had her ballet dress rehearsal May 31st.  It was so cute to watch them practice and to take pictures of her.  She is so precious when she is dancing.  I can't stop taking pictures!!

Audrey and I went for our last lunch visit to Aaron at Olde Providence.  I can't believe school is almost out! We have loved OP and Mrs. Short!!
