Look Who's 32! September 19th - 30th 2011

In the pictures above AJ and Audrey are making birthday posters for Aaron's 32nd birthday.  Aaron was in NYC all week and AJ planned the party for Saturday the 24th when Aaron returned home.  AJ wanted to have blue balloons hung up all over the house.  We decorated the dining and living room with blue crape paper.  AJ spent 4 hours drawing Charlotte, NYC and the beach on a huge piece of paper where I wrote Happy Birthday Dad. AJ also picked out the present he wanted to get Aaron. We decided to hide the presents and make clues for Aaron to find each present.  AJ did a great job of making up the clues and had so much fun watching his dad find the presents and open them too.  Aaron was in NYC on his actual birthday and a friend bought him tiny mini cupcakes as you can see in the pic below. Aaron actually doesn't like cake with frosting, but he loves Twinkies and that's what AJ wanted him to have. We put them in the shape of 32. The first clue is on the green sticky tab

Lego Airplanes, Soccer, and Outdoor Fun ~ Sept. 6th - 12th 2011

AJ loves legos and especially building airplanes. Here he built his own little plane and let Aaron play with his big airplane.  Audrey just wanted to be part of the fun. In the past AJ has played soccer on a YMCA league.  This year we wanted him to have more than one practice a week and he now plays with Charlotte Soccer Academy. He has a regular practice with his coach and team on Wednesday, then a training practice with all boys in his age group on either Monday or Friday of the same week.  All his games are on Saturday. He has a great coach and is really improving. AJ is also taking a tennis class at the JCC on Mondays. He likes it and has definitely improved since his first class. Audrey and I play on the playground near the soccer fields or walk around the track while AJ practices soccer. During games we sit and eat so Audrey will stay in her stroller.  She is able to get the straps off her shoulders and she stands up in the stroller with the seat belt still fastened, or

Outer Banks Family Vacation ~ September 2nd -5th 2011

Friday around noon Aaron decided we'd go to the beach one last time this summer.  We had never been to the Outer Banks so off we went around 3pm.  It took us about 7 hours to drive there, but we had some fun stops and were nice and comfortable in our new Honda Odyssey Tourning. We loved our Rav 4, but the lease was up. We wanted space for everyone to sit when our parents came to visit and still be able to hold all our luggage.  I love it!  Anyway, we stayed in Kill Devil Hills. Saturday morning we found a nice place on the beach and played. The water was a lot cooler then we expected but that didn't stop AJ from jumping in the waves and hunting for shells. Audrey played most of the time with her new bucket and shovel Aaron bought for her since I somehow forgot the sand toys???  AJ did lose the truck he's playing with in one of the ocean waves.  He was pretty sad, but didn't stay that way too long because the beach is just too much fun! For dinner we had an
